What Is Magic Lands?

Magic Lands is a fantasy trilogy set in Doamanse, a world where bonds between people, creatures, trees, villages, memories, and powers shape the fate of entire peoples.

The World

The trilogy begins in the Inlands, a living wetland world where Ray and Tall learn to read trembling ground, creature movement, and village memory.

From there, the story opens into the Stone Lands, Country, Adalayia, Korran, Mount Lar, Stone Canyon, Frething, and other regions known through travel, vision, rumor, and warning.

The Central Question

At the heart of the trilogy is one question: what happens when connection becomes power?

Ray sees paths. Tall forms bonds. Kerry nourishes living things. Deanna knows the hidden machinery of Adalayia from within.

The Three Books

Each book expands Doamanse while deepening the struggle between free connection and control.

Book 1

Journey Beyond the Beyond

Ray leaves the Inlands on a manhood quest and discovers that his path reaches far beyond home. Book 1 introduces Nahterh’n, Lost and Deep, True, Tall’s dangerous compassion, Kerry, Country, and the first great contrast between living wet and dead stone.

Book 2

Into the Stone Lands

Ray and Kerry cross deeper into the wizard’s world while Tall follows the hidden tethers that bind their stories together. Book 2 expands Country, Adalayia, the wizard’s system, tree singing, second sight, and the cost of being seen.

Core Doamanse Themes

The trilogy’s worldbuilding grows from several linked ideas.

Living Connection

Tethers, creature bonds, tree singing, village memory, and listening all show that nothing living stands entirely alone.

Tethers

Connection Under Control

The wizard’s system turns rank, record, debt, duty, and magical tools into ways of using living bonds.

Wizard’s System

Freedom Freely Given

Ray and True, Tall’s calling, Kerry’s tree singing, and Frething’s hope all ask what kind of connection can remain free.
