Magic Lands Culture Guide
Doamanse is not one culture.
The people of the Inlands, Country, Adalayia, Korran, and the outtrader villages all read the world differently. Some trust trembling ground. Some trust road law. Some trust song. Some survive through silence. Some live inside systems of rank and command.
Understanding Doamanse means understanding how each people names the world.
Each culture teaches its children a different answer to danger, belonging, memory, and power.
Inlanders live in the wet, shifting lowlands. Their culture values patience, careful movement, oral memory, village law, companion bonds, arbors, and rites of passage.
Country people live in rural lands under Adalayia’s influence. They may be isolated, practical, fearful of the city, and bound by tithe, road law, debt, and market records.
Adalayians live within the hierarchy of the wizard’s city. Their society is shaped by rank, role, vow, debt, military authority, magical function, and fear.
Endwellers are an old bloodline or people connected to tree singing, glow, memory, resistance, and the family lines of Kerry, Deanna, Ekatarin, and Avea.
Some peoples of Doamanse live at borders, crossings, and contested routes.
Outtraders seem to occupy a threshold between Inlander and Outlander worlds. Their settlements may preserve knowledge of crossing, trade, and old paths.
The undermountain men are associated with Korran and the northern lands. They are disciplined, strong, practical, and tied to resistance against the wizard’s reach.
In Magic Lands, what people call a thing often reveals how they understand it.
Inlander terms divide the world into the known wetland home and the frightening world beyond it.
Adalayian language often assigns role, duty, value, and obedience.
Older peoples and bloodlines preserve names that point toward memory, resistance, and forgotten truths.
